COME YE APART AND REST AWHILE

As you enter the 25 acre picturesque farm surrounding the Wisteria Cottage on Lavender Lane and cross the bridge you will feel the tranquility and serenity engulf you. The birds and butterflies will be glad to share their herbs and flowers with you, with the woods beckoning you for a stroll to see what wildlife can be found or even waiting on the porch to watch the deer step out to see what treats Alvin has left for them.

We invite you to come on in to the 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage that has been carefully and lovingly moved from the Johnson farm on Hwy 78 West. to our property. This house was home to the "hands" that helped them tend the many acres back in the 1940's.  It has been restored by Alvin and Jamie who painstakingly cut, sawed, hammered, and measured to return the house to its original look.

We encourage bird watching, tramping the woods or strolling the small garden for herbs and flowers, or simply resting on the front porch with a book or feeling the cool breezes on the back deck while you wait on the wildlife to start moving.

The kitchen is equipped with a small stove and refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee pot.
The treats and drinks found at the cottage are yours to enjoy after arriving.  You will also find fresh seasonal flowers throughout the cottage.  A claw foot tub to remind you of the days spent at Grandmas house awaits using in the bathroom.  The cottage sleeps four with one Queen size bed and one Double bed.  A crib is available upon request.

A typical Mennonite breakfast will include Henny Penny's fresh low cholesterol eggs, Bacon or Sausage, Fried Potatoes and Hot Cakes, French Toast, Homemade Toast [choice of 1] with berry syrup or homemade jam to smother them. You will also enjoy something baked - never can tell what's on the menu - Cinnamon Rolls, Orange Twists, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Italian Cream Cake, Pecan Pie Blackberry Cobbler, Apple Dumplings, and Fresh Fruit Pizza to name a few along with fresh fruit, whatever is in season, or juice. Of course coffee, whether it is a specialty flavored type you like or the regular kind that is your preference, will make you feel right at home. All this will be brought to the cottage kitchen or the deck at the agreed upon time.

The Mennonite Church just down the road welcomes you to enjoy first hand a service with them. One of the most enjoyed services would be Hymn Sing which is usually held the 4th Sunday evening at 7:00 P.M.; but every Sunday morning we meet at 9:30 and Wednesday at 7:30PM, along with the1st, 2nd, and 4th Sunday evening at 7:00.
